Hetauda garment factory ready to reopen

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has said that the Nepal Army is conducting trial production for the resumption of Hetauda garment industry.

Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Krishna Bahadur Raut, said that the Hetauda garment industry is being operated on trial production. The government had decided to reopen the Hetauda Textile Industry on July 3, 2083.

Secretary Raut said that the budget has been released from the Ministry of Finance after the government decided to resume the operation. He also said that the work of preparing the Asset Valuation (DDA) report of 7 closed or sick industries is going on in the recent period. How to operate it will be decided only after the DDA report comes.

Speaking at a press meet organized on the occasion of the completion of 100 days of the incumbent government, Secretary Raut informed about the initiatives being taken by the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Finance. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on January 26, 2002 has approved in principle to produce test production for the re-operation of Hetauda Textile Industry.
