Flood risk in 26 districts on Wednesday: Alert urged

Kathmandu. There is a risk of floods in 26 districts of the country today. According to the Flood Forecasting Division, three districts in the Kathmandu Valley including Sindhupalchowk, Lamjung, Kaski, Dang, Banke, Bardiya and Kailali districts are at high risk of flood and flooding. Likewise, the water level in the small rivers flowing through Kavrepalanchowk, Dhading, Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, Gorkha, Chitwan, Tanahun, Nawalparasi (West), Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura and the surrounding districts is likely to increase and there is a moderate risk of flash floods.

Rainfall has occurred in many places of the country with the monsoon becoming active. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the rain that started from Wednesday will continue till tomorrow. The weather will be completely cloudy throughout the country today today with the possibility of heavy rain at one or two places of the hilly region of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.

Heavy rainfall has been forecast at some places of the hilly region of the country including Koshi and Bagmati provinces tomorrow. KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged all to adopt necessary precaution as there is a risk of flood, landslide, inundation and road obstruction in the areas prone to rain.
