Kathmandu. The first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is taking place today.
Sobita Gautam and Toshima Karki are vying for the post of woman vice-president of the party.
Gautam and Karki are the only candidates in the list of candidates for office bearers made public by the Election Commission a while ago.
Similarly, 9 candidates have filed their candidacies for the post of general secretary. Kabindra Burlakoti, Pramod Neupane, Manish Jha, Rajunath Pandey, Ranju Darshana, Ganesh Karki, Ganesh Parajuli, Sagar Dhakal and Bipin Kumar Acharya have filed their candidacies for general secretary.
However, Jagadish Kharel, who was declared a candidate for the post of general secretary, has withdrawn his candidacy.
Similarly, 11 candidates have filed their candidacy for the post of joint general secretary. Ramesh Prasai, Yagyamani Neupane, Sulav Kharel, Asim Shah, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Milan Limbu, Pukar Bam, Bijay Jairu, Hari Dhakal, Himesh Pant and Rajiv Khatri are in the fray for joint general secretary.
Similarly, Julie Yadav, Jamuna Kumari Sharma, Kamini Kumari Chaudhary, Nisha Dangi and Reema Bishwakarma have been elected as joint general secretaries.
Similarly, Swarnim Wagle and Rabi Lamichhane have been unanimously elected as the vice-president of the male open category. Elections are taking place today for 5 office-bearers.
Most of the representatives who participated in the 6-day general convention of the RSP have already returned home.
