Kathmandu. The Nepal School Staff Council has submitted a memorandum to the Education and Human Resource Development Centre (EHRDC), accusing it of ignoring the demands of the employees of community schools in the new budget. A team led by Council Chairman Ganga Ram Tiwari drew the attention of Centre’s Director General Ana Prasad Neupane.

The council’s national committee had closed its work on June 5.Although the government has increased the salary and allowances of all civil servants by up to 15 percent through the budget for the coming fiscal year, the council has not addressed the issue of school employees working in community schools.

The council has said that its attention has been drawn to the depreciation of their labor and contribution in the budget.

Earlier, a virtual meeting of the Council held on May 30 and discussion with the Nepal Teachers’ Federation and other teachers’ employees’ professional unions had finalized the protest programmes.
