Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel today stressed the need to adopt yoga as a scientific and disciplined lifestyle, not only as a physical practice.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, President Poudel stressed the need of linking yoga more effectively with the national policy, educational curriculum and public health programmes.
He said that yoga is a holistic way of life that unites body, mind and soul and combines meditation, pranayama and bodily asanas can help improve a person’s overall health.
He said yoga helps to reduce stress, provide positive energy, boost immunity, strengthen digestive system and maintain mental balance.
Various studies, researches and historical evidences have proved that Nepal is an ancient land of yoga.
He expressed the belief that yoga could be made an integral part of daily life at a time when human life was becoming more complex due to modern lifestyle, increasing stress, pollution and intense competition.
On the occasion, President Poudel extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity and good health.
