Kathmandu. The distribution of land ownership certificates to landless squatters will begin from the third week of June.
Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal informed about this.
Responding to the queries raised by lawmakers in the House of Representatives on the annual budget for the coming fiscal year 2083/84, Minister Rawal said that preparations were underway to distribute the land ownership certificates to the landless squatters.
Chairman of the Labour and Culture Party, Harka Sampang, asked whether the landless squatters were given land ownership certificates. The government is displacing the squatters of Kathmandu and keeping them in holding centers. Questions are being raised about the lack of good management in the holding center.
Sampang also urged that if it could not be managed, it could be managed in the same place as before.
In response, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Rawal said that the land ownership certificates would be distributed to the landless squatters from the third week of June.
“We have already started work on the land ownership certificate. Now, from the third week of June, we will start distributing the land ownership certificates. ’
In the past, the government used to work through the Land Commission. The incumbent government has forwarded the task of managing the landless squatters by forming a committee related to land.
