NEPSE index rises, transaction volume decreases

Kathmandu. The stock market, which had fallen for four consecutive days, recovered today. The NEPSE index increased by 0.08 points to close at 2,705.53 points today.

Except for development banks, finance, hydropower, investment and production and processing, the indices of all the groups decreased. Shares of 125 companies increased today and 132 others declined. Similarly, shares of 14 companies remained unchanged.

Shares of Sopan Pharmaceuticals and Apollo Hydropower were up 15 percent today. The NMB debenture fell by 8.64 per cent on a day when the market was not much volatile.

Although the NEPSE index remained stable, the transaction volume decreased. A total of 8,375,000 units of shares of 352 companies were traded for Rs 3.63 billion compared to Rs 4.04 billion yesterday.
