Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Padma Aryal has expressed dissatisfaction over the Foreign Minister’s visit to India.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Aryal said that the Foreign Minister has gone to India at a time when protests are being held inside and outside the parliament against the Prime Minister’s remarks. She also expressed her hope that the visit would be fruitful in further consolidating Nepal-India relations and removing misunderstandings between the two countries.
However, he claimed that the visit did not yield the expected results. “We struggled in the parliament over the statement of the Right Honorable Prime Minister. We changed the struggle by realizing the responsibility of discussing the budget and passing it on time.
The kind of statement made by the Prime Minister of the country was irresponsible and would have harmed the nation. Similarly, the Foreign Minister also visited India. We were happy. It was expected that he would go to India and strengthen the relations between Nepal and India.
We believed that it would help resolve the existing misunderstandings. But unfortunately, he has forgotten nationalism by crushing the carpets that were laid out while enjoying the warm hospitality,” she said.
Accusing the foreign minister of forgetting nationalism while enjoying India’s warm hospitality, Aryal indicated that the activities were against the national interest.
She said that the UML has waged a struggle against the Prime Minister’s remarks in the parliament, saying they felt irresponsible and harmed the nation.
