Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khusbu Oli has expressed concern over the government’s lack of clarity on Foreign Minister’s visit to India and the border dispute.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Oli accused the Foreign Minister of not raising any issue of the border issue clearly during his visit to New Delhi.
“I would like to express my disagreement with the Foreign Minister’s statement on the border dispute. On his way from Kathmandu to Delhi, he told reporters that he would talk about this issue later. Nowhere did the border issue come up in the formal talks in Delhi. ’
According to him, the Foreign Minister had said that he would speak to the media later before the visit, but there was no discussion on the border issue in the formal talks. She claimed that even the press release issued by the Nepali side did not mention the issue related to the border dispute.
Oli also said that the press note issued after returning to Kathmandu after his visit to New Delhi did not include anything related to the border dispute. He also said that the minister was compelled to comment on the border issue only after being questioned by journalists.
“So much so that not a single word was mentioned in the press release issued by the Nepali side regarding the border dispute. After the visit, he raised some issues behind closed doors with reporters in Delhi.
After returning to Kathmandu, he gave me a press note, in which there is not a single word about the border dispute. When the reporter asked him later, he was forced to say something. He did not raise the border issue in Parliament. He raised the issue of the regular work of border management, such as the management of war pillars and its meetings. ’
She commented that the Foreign Minister did not give priority to the border dispute and only raised the issues of regular border management, such as the management of war pillars and meetings.
