What is the difference between SLCE and SEE?TAG_OPEN_strong_29

The final examination of the school level is in class 12. It is operated by the National Examination Board. Many people do not know that the name of the final examination of the school level is SALCE. However, Section 2 (g) of the Education Act clearly mentions the name of the examination.

“School Leaving Certificate Examination” means the examination at the end of secondary education.

Since 2073, the final examination of class 10 has been called Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Before the start of SEE, the final examination of class 10 was called SLC.

SLC was started in 1990. But from 2073 BS, the SLC was removed and SEE was started. The current Education Act provides for both SLCE and SEE examinations.

Is both SLCE and SEE necessary?

Academics have also been arguing that the final examination of class 10 (SEE) should be scrapped as the final examination of school education (SLCE) will be held in class 12. Students say that they should bring the concept of self-evaluation. Dr. Vidyanath Koirala.

“There is no need for a grade 10 exam. Students should bring materials to evaluate themselves,” he said. What is my knowledge, what is my skill, what is my ancestral knowledge, what has been done to connect my ancestral knowledge with modern technology and give it to the students. ’

Koirala has proposed that students should be given their own assessment from class 1. He believes that only the final examination of class 12 is appropriate because of the board. “Since it is necessary internationally, 12 should be recognized by the board,” he said.

Suprabhat Bhandari, the outgoing president of the Guardians’ Federation, also said that there is no need to conduct the class 10 examination at the national level.

“There is no need to make the final examination of class 10 national. Regular exams are done. If not, it will be done at the state level,” he said. The national examination is held at the end of class 12. He argues that the format of class 10 examination should be changed. “The nature of examinations should be changed from the new Education Act to be formulated,” he said.
