Kathmandu. The stock market fell for 4 consecutive days. The NEPSE index increased by 2.57 points to close at 2,736.17 points today.
Today, the index of the bank group remained stable. Except for development banks, finance, hotel and tourism, hydropower, production and processing and mutual funds, the indices of all the sub-groups decreased.
Shares of 127 companies increased today and 134 declined. However, the shares of 10 companies remained unchanged.
Shares of Kalinchowk Hydropower, Sopan Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Apollo Hydropower Ltd surged by 15 per cent today. Prabhu Bank’s debentures fell by more than 8.5 percent on the day of the market’s general rise.
Although the NEPSE index increased today, the transaction amount decreased. A total of 9,283,000 units of shares of 356 companies were traded for Rs 4.29 billion today, compared to Rs 6.44 billion yesterday.
