Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khusbu Oli has said that she has been receiving threats of murder, rape and physical assault through social media.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, she claimed that the threats were being received in a planned manner after raising the issue of making Nepal an eternal state.
“When I raised in this House that Nepal should be Sanatan State as guaranteed by the Article of the Constitution of Nepal in a country where 90 per cent of the population of Sanatani people live, I have been receiving death threats, rape threats and physical attacks from social media,” she said. ’
Stating that more than 90 per cent people live in Nepal, she said that she had raised the demand that Nepal should be Sanatan state as per the rights guaranteed by the constitution. Since then, he said, he has been receiving constant threats of murder, rape and physical assault on social media.
Lawmaker Oli claimed that although he could personally tolerate such threats, it was not only an attack against him but also on the entire Sanatan Dharma. She also drew the attention of the bodies concerned saying such activities taking place in the name of secularism was unfortunate.
“Is this the result of secularism brought by the Republic? Personally, I can bear this threat, but it is not an attack on me but on the entire Sanatan Dharma. ’
