Kathmandu. The stock market, which had fallen by double digits on Thursday, fell slightly. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 1.54 points to close at 2,733.59 points today. Except for hotel and tourism, hydropower, production and processing and others, the indices of all the groups decreased.
Shares of 151 companies decreased today and 105 advanced. Shares of 15 companies remained unchanged today.
Shares of Crest Micro Life Insurance fell more than 9 percent today. Shares of Sopan Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Kalinchowk Hydropower Ltd surged by 15 per cent on the day.
Although the NEPSE index decreased today, the transaction amount increased. A total of 12.3 million units of shares of 357 companies were traded for Rs 6.44 billion today, compared to Rs 4.08 billion yesterday. This transaction amount is the highest since April 29. Shares worth Rs 6.53 billion were traded on that day.
