Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has said caste-based discrimination is a serious crime against the social, moral and human dignity.
In a message today on the occasion of the National Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and Untouchability, President Bhandari said the Constitution of Nepal has adopted the multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural and geographical diversity of the nation as the special identity of the nation.
The Constitution of Nepal has resolved to build an equitable society on the basis of proportional, inclusive and participatory principles by protecting and promoting unity in diversity, socio-cultural solidarity, tolerance and goodwill by upholding all forms of discrimination based on class, ethnic, regional, linguistic, religious, gender and all forms of discrimination by protecting and promoting unity in diversity, socio-cultural solidarity, tolerance and goodwill. The message reads.
He added that the constitution would protect and promote unity in diversity, social and cultural solidarity, tolerance and goodwill. He also extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad for their happiness, peace, prosperity and social harmony.
