Kathmandu. The stock market, which had decreased yesterday, has increased slightly today. Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 4.99 points to close at 2,782.10 points.
Except for finance, hotel and tourism, production and processing, and others, the indices of all the groups have increased slightly. Shares of 151 companies increased today and 105 declined. Similarly, shares of 14 companies remained unchanged.
Shares of Kalinchowk Hydropower Ltd and Bungal Hydropower Ltd surged by 15 per cent and 14.88 per cent respectively. Sanima Bank’s debentures fell by more than 6.5 percent on the day.
Today, the transaction amount has also increased along with NEPSE. A total of 15.2 million units of shares of 354 companies were traded for Rs 6.03 billion compared to Rs 4.85 billion yesterday.
This transaction amount is the highest in almost 1 month. Earlier, on April 29, shares worth Rs 6.53 billion were traded. Since then, the transaction amount has not reached Rs 6 billion.
