Kathmandu. South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Taeyong Park paid a courtesy call on Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar on Monday. Matters related to Nepal-Korea relations, investment, technology, labour and parliamentary partnership were discussed during the meeting.

Appreciating the contributions of South Korea to Nepal’s development, education, health, agriculture and employment sectors, Speaker Aryal called for continuity of cooperation in the days ahead. Stating that Nepal has formed a new government with a new mandate, he said environment conducive for foreign investment and development partnership was being further conducive.

On the occasion, Speaker Aryal urged the Korean investors to invest in Nepal’s information technology and technology sectors. Stating that preparations for the formation of Nepal-Korea parliamentary friendship group have reached the final stage, he stressed the need of further strengthening the exchange of experiences between the parliamentarians of the two countries.

He also requested the Korean government to encourage Korean tourists to visit Nepal and facilitate Nepal Airlines’ direct flights to Seoul.

Stating that Korea has prioritized Nepal as a development partner, he said that cooperation was underway in education, health, agriculture, economic development and employment sectors. According to him, around 120,000 Nepalis have got employment in South Korea so far under the employment permit system and 50,000 Nepalis are currently working there.
