Kathmandu. Police have arrested five persons in possession of banned drugs from different places.
Police have arrested 24-year-old Prakash Darji of Likhu Rural Municipality-8 in Nuwakot with 140 tablets of Tramadol from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, Balkhu this morning. A police team deputed from Balkhu Police Division arrested him with the drugs.
Similarly, police have arrested two persons in possession of 6 kilogrammes of cannabis at Titirebot of Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-4 in Udayapur district. The arrestees have been identified as 45-year-old Lila Devi Ram of Lahan Municipality-17 and Asmita Ram, 40, of Lahan Municipality-8, Siraha. A police team deputed from Temporary Police Post Nepaltar arrested them with the cannabis they were travelling in a Bolero (Sa 1 Ja 590) en route to Nepaltar from Dhunggre.
Likewise, police arrested Bijaya Kumar Yadav, 21, of Kamalpur of Saptakoshi Municipality-1 in Saptari district with 13.25 kilogrammes of cannabis. A police team deputed from Fatehpur police station arrested him with the marijuana. Police are searching for 1 absconding person involved in the incident.
Police have arrested 43-year-old Chandra Bahadur Poudel with 400 milligrams of brown sugar from Kalisthan Chowk in Kankai municipality-3 of Jhapa district. A police team deputed from the Area Police Office, Surunga arrested him with the substance.
Police said further investigation is underway in this connection.
