Kathmandu. Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Sita Badi held a meeting with the representatives of Blue Diamond Society here today.
On the occasion, the representatives of Blue Diamond Society and organizations associated with the Federation of Gender and Sexual Minorities Nepal expressed their gratitude and heartfelt thanks for the historic decision of the government to name the Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security.
The society has taken the decision to include the issues of gender and sexual minority in the ministry’s jurisdiction as an important and historic achievement.
On the occasion, Minister Badi said that the Ministry was sensitive towards the rights, rights, respect and social security of gender and sexual minority.
Lawmaker Bhumika Shrestha, Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society Manisha Dhakal, Simran Sherchan of Federation of Gender and Sexual Minorities Nepal, Peter Rai, Tikaram Bhusal, Bhakti Shah, Peji Lama, Sudip Gautam among others were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, they apprised the people of the community about the policy and legal complexities.
