The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) issued a circular not to purchase new equipment except for essential items.

Kathmandu.  The Prime Minister’s Office has directed all not to purchase new materials except the most essential ones and adopt austerity in public expenditure. The Office has issued a circular to all ministries, commissions, secretariats, offices, bodies, offices of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, and provinces directing them not to purchase goods except the most essential ones.

The office has asked to use the equipment, tools, equipment, furniture and vehicles operating in the office and to make public expenditure economical.

The Office has directed the government to adopt austerity in expenditure after complaints were received that some people were forced to buy new items like chairs, drawers, sofas, carpets, curtains, pots, computers, mobiles, laptops and other materials without using them.
