Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has decided to expedite the protection and removal of encroachment on government and public land across the country.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to all 77 district administration offices of the country asking them to identify the encroached land and remove such structures.

The ministry has asked the ministry to coordinate with the concerned bodies at the district level to collect details of the encroached public land and send a detailed plan to vacate such land.

In the letter issued by section officer Krishna Devkota, it is stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs will make necessary security arrangements and other administrative facilitation to remove the encroachment after the ministry approves the plans sent from the districts.

Recalling that the Ministry had issued a circular on April 20, 2082 regarding the conservation of public land, the new directive was issued through a secretary-level decision to make the same work more effective.
