Kathmandu. The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has hiked public transport fares after the hike in fuel prices. The department has increased the fare for inter-state public transport. According to the department, the increased fare will come into effect from Wednesday.
The government has increased the inter-province passenger transport fare by 5 percent each.
Earlier, the fare was increased on April 25. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport had given its consent to increase the fare on April 12. Accordingly, the fare of public vehicles has been increased, according to the department.
Now the price of diesel is Rs 235.83 per liter. The department has said that electric vehicles will not be allowed to increase the fare. The department has warned that action will be taken if the fare of electric vehicles is increased.
