Public holiday to inaugurate bus park in municipality

Kathmandu. The Sharada Municipality of Salyan district has declared a public holiday on the occasion of the inauguration of the bus park.

The 64th meeting of the local executive held on Monday had decided to give a public holiday on Wednesday for the inauguration of the bus park. Prakash Bhandari, mayor of the municipality, said the public holiday was announced for the inauguration of the bus park.

According to the municipality, the bus park established at Srinagar of Sharada municipality will be inaugurated today. Though the bus park was brought into operation last December, it was not inaugurated yet. All types of small, big, short and long route vehicles departing from Salyan are operating from the bus park.

Although the bus park has been operational, the shops and businesses operating haphazardly on the roads and footpaths of the market area have also been managed inside the bus park. The bus park started from the fiscal year 2080/081 BS is spread over 7,000 square meters of government land.

Two 17÷room commercial buildings have been constructed in the bus park constructed with the joint initiative of the Government of Nepal, Karnali Province and the municipality. There are 35 business stalls and 34 shutters.

Public toilets, gates, parking, footpaths and drains have also been constructed. Jaya Bageshwori Construction and Suppliers has been awarded the contract to operate the bus park at an annual cost of Rs 52 lakh.
