Police constable murdered in Birgunj, four arrested

Kathmandu. A youth was shot dead with a sharp weapon behind the Indian Embassy in Sripur of Birgunj Metropolitan City-9 in Parsa district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Bikash Chaurasiya, 28, of Kalika Mai Rural Municipality-1 in Parsa district.

He is an incumbent police constable of Nepal Police.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Bahadur Basnet, a police team reached the incident site immediately after receiving information that a person was seriously injured at the house of Firoza Miya at Murli of Birgunj-9.

At the incident site, Chaur Siya was found bleeding profusely from various parts of his body.

He was rushed to Narayani Hospital for treatment but doctors declared him dead. The deceased had been living in a rented room at Murli of Birgunj and had returned home on a 10-day leave. Police have arrested four persons including a woman for their alleged involvement in the murder.

The arrestees have been identified as Santosh Sah (26), his wife Soni Sah (24), Bishal Sah (19) of Bara and Kanhaiya Kumar (19) of Rautahat. DSP Basnet said that further investigation into the cause and nature of the incident is underway.
