Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Saraswati Lama has filed her candidacy for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. Lama formally registered her candidacy at the Federal Parliament Secretariat. With the process of electing the deputy speaker moving forward, the exercise to garner support among the political parties has also intensified.
The RPP has staked its claim for the post of deputy speaker through Lama’s candidacy. There is a competition between the ruling and opposition parties on the basis of strength of numbers in the parliament. Voting is scheduled to take place on the scheduled date for the election of the Deputy Speaker.
