Kathmandu. Activists associated with the Chure and Forest Conservation Campaign have pasted the letter at Maitighar Mandala and made it public after their attempts to submit the memorandum to the Prime Minister failed.

The campaigners had tried to meet the Prime Minister to draw the government’s attention towards the rapid exploitation of the Chure region, deforestation and environmental damage. However, as they did not get time to meet, they pasted a letter at Maitighar Mandala outlining their demands and concerns.

The representatives of the campaign have demanded the government to immediately implement concrete policy for the conservation of Chure, strict illegal extraction and long-term environmental protection measures. They have also complained that the concerned authorities have not shown any interest in resolving the problem. They have warned of more pressure programmes to draw the attention of the government.
