Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has forwarded the construction of grassland in the southern part of Tundikhel (the southern part of Army Pavilion). Issuing a notice, the Public Works Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started the construction work from March 8.
The grassland is to be constructed at the place as per the approved budget and programme for the fiscal year 2082/83 of the metropolis. The metropolis has paid Rs 2,42,51,131 including VAT to New Benjamin Sussman R. The contract has been signed with K (JV) to complete the work within a year. At Tundikhel, work is underway to remove the soil and dig borewells in the four corners of the tower.
According to KMC, various festivals, sports activities, assemblies and other public programs will be disrupted in the area after the start of the construction work.
