Kathmandu. The hearing on the habeas corpus writ petitions filed by CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is underway today.
The hearing is scheduled for today as the defendants have already submitted their written response after the show cause order issued by the Supreme Court. Oli and the writer were arrested on March 14 on the charge of suppressing the Genji movement.
Oli’s wife Radhika Shakya and Yashoda Lekhak, wife of leader Lekhak, had filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding that the government release them.
After separate benches in both the petitions, a show cause order was issued in the name of the opposition government.
