UML secretariat meeting to discuss Badal’s controversial remarks

Kathmandu. The CPN-UML’s Secretariat meeting is convening today. The meeting will discuss the address of parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa (Badal) to the House of Representatives on Thursday.

Vice-chairman Bishnu Poudel said that the secretariat meeting would discuss Badal’s remarks against the party’s established policies and values.

Thapa, who is also the acting chairman of the CPN-UML, had said that all the results of the Jenji agitation on September 7 and 24 and the March 4 elections were the result of conspiracy and collusion of these bodies. They also blamed the Nepal Army, civil servants and foreign bodies for going against the UML’s governing stance.

Leaders have questioned his controversial statement. Vice-Chairman Poudel said that the secretariat meeting would seriously discuss Badal’s remarks and appropriate decision would be taken.

Similarly, another UML leader Surendra Pandey blamed the UML for creating such situation. He blamed the inaction of the then UML-led government.
