Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The government is to operate a special flight from today for the rescue and smooth movement of Nepali nationals in the Middle East in view of the growing tension and security situation in the Middle East.
A meeting of the high-level officials held on Thursday at the special initiative of Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal decided to operate a special flight from April 3 to April 5 through Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Regular flights to the region have been suspended since February 28 due to tensions in the Middle East. In order to address the problems of Nepalis, Nepal Airlines under the direction of Foreign Minister Khanal has made public the schedule of flights to Dubai and Dammam.
The flight schedule includes Kathmandu-Dubai flight from April 3 to Dubai at 11:15 pm, Dubai to Kathmandu on April 4 at 4:10 am, Kathmandu to Dammam at 8:30 am on April 5 and Dammam-Kathmandu at 12:20 pm on April 5.
Earlier, on April 1, the bodies of 291 Nepalis and nine Nepalis who died due to various reasons were brought to the Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.
