Kathmandu. The main opposition CPN-UML has expressed serious concern over the arrest of Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak in the first meeting of the House of Representatives.
UML lawmaker Guru Baral had protested in the first meeting. Speaker Arjun Narsingh KC immediately gave him time to speak.
On the occasion, Baral demanded the release of Oli and the writer saying that they were arrested against the constitution.
“CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak have been imprisoned by misusing Clause 181 and 182 of the Civil Procedure,” he said. Protests are taking place across the country over this issue. Today, the government is brutally repressing. ’
“We demand the release of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak today itself,” he said.
