Kathmandu. The meeting of district presidents of the Nepali Congress (NC) scheduled to be organized by the non-establishment group has been postponed.

A meeting of the leaders opposing the special general convention has postponed the district gathering of party presidents.

Outgoing acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka had called a two-day meeting of the office-bearers and central members elected from the 14th general convention.

Earlier, a notice was leaked that the non-establishment group had called a meeting of district presidents on Thursday.

According to the leaders who participated in the Dhumbarahi meeting, the meeting has been postponed for the time being as the activities of other groups will be carried out in a different way.

A top leader said that the meeting of district presidents would be decided after further internal discussions.

A youth leader said that the pre-scheduled meeting was postponed to prepare for the discussion by calling the district presidents according to the province.

Another leader of the non-establishment group said that the meeting was postponed in view of the hearing scheduled for April 22 in the Supreme Court regarding the party’s legitimacy.
