Kathmandu. A meeting of the Central Disciplinary Committee of the Nepali Congress has begun today.

The NC has called a meeting of the disciplinary committee after the group led by former party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Shekhar Koirala started carrying out parallel activities.

The meeting began at the party’s central office, Sanepa.

After the arrest of NC leader and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak on Saturday, Purna Bahadur Khadka issued a statement as the acting president.

Khadka of the Deuba faction issued a statement as the acting president of the party at a time when NC President Gagan Thapa was elected through the special general convention and the Election Commission has also recognized it.

On Tuesday, Khadka had called a meeting of the central working committee elected from the 14th general convention. The Congress is upset with the program by keeping Shekhar Koirala and Shashank Koirala on the right and left. Khadka has also called a meeting of district presidents on April 19.

Therefore, these issues are being discussed in the disciplinary committee today, said a leader.
