Kathmandu. CPN-UML lawmaker Suhang Nembang has staked his claim for the post of parliamentary party leader. He staked his claim for the post of party leader in a meeting held at the party office in Chyasal today. According to a leader present in the meeting, he was aware of the party’s procedures and seniority hierarchy and respected it, adding that youth leadership was the need of the hour.
“I express my desire to achieve superiority through competition and also adopt the democratic practice as per the people’s aspiration, necessity and at the same time,” he quoted Suhang as saying.
“He requested the leaders not to ignore the current situation in the country. “What is the need of this situation?” he asked, adding, “We can understand the situation in and outside the House by looking at it.” ’
“My point is not that the elders can’t do it at all. My slogan is the need of the hour along with the energy of the youths as well as the experience and blessings of the elders,” he said.
Earlier, Suhang had told media persons that he was ready to become the parliamentary party leader. “I won’t earn a leg when the party asks me to move forward,” he said.
Suhang was re-elected from Ilam-2 and is 36 years old.
