Kathmandu. Law Minister Anil Kumar Sinha has said that the role of forecasting and early warning system is very important in providing timely weather related information.
Speaking at a programme organized on the occasion of the World Meteorological Day here today, Minister Shinhal pointed out that the role of forecasting and early warning system was essential for timely availability of hydrological and meteorological information.
He said that the priority is to provide timely information to vulnerable communities to further strengthen the early warning system.
He said that the government has laid more emphasis on the use of modern technology to make the forecasting system more scientific and effective.
“We have been prioritizing the distribution or operation and management of the sub-particle that observes water, weather, climate and snow, to make the forecasting system more credible, scientific and effective, and more emphasis on infrastructure expansion and truthfulness by using modern technology,” he said.
He said that these services have been directly affected in disaster management, agriculture, water resources management, energy production, tourism, transport, health and physical infrastructure, among others. He said modernization of water and weather system was the need of the hour.
