Kathmandu. Passengers of the ruling Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) padlocked the office of the corporation in Jumla on Sunday, saying that the airline has not operated regular flights.

The general public and passengers have padlocked the office after the aircraft did not take off since March 24.

Passengers allege that Nepal Airlines has been deceiving Nepal Airlines by saying that it frequently operates flights to other districts. Passengers who arrived at the airport after getting the information about the flight being canceled at the last minute were agitated.

Patients are suffering the most due to lack of flights. Passengers have complained that the NAC has not shown sensitivity in the flights even though the seriously ill patients referred from Karnali Institute of Health Sciences outside for further treatment are waiting for the aircraft.

“Flights are operating in other districts but flights are canceled in Jumla due to technical reasons,” said an angry passenger. The locals of Jumla have been facing problems as the government planes have not operated flights for a long time.

Passengers have warned that they will continue the agitation until the NAC immediately ensures regular flights.
