Gagan Thapa resigns

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has resigned from his post on Tuesday.

Thapa, who was defeated in the House of Representatives elections held on March 4, resigned from his post.

President Thapa had submitted his resignation to Vice-President Bishwa Prakash Sharma on Wednesday.

Earlier, Thapa was elected from Kathmandu-4 and this time he was contesting from Sarlahi-4. He was defeated by Dr Amresh Kumar Singh of Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP).
