Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has banned all social gatherings and sports programmes at Tundikhel ground.
Issuing an urgent notice today, the Public Works Department of KMC said that the construction of grassland in the southern part of Tundikhel (the southern ground of Army Pavilion) has stopped the construction of grassland.
The metropolis has informed that the construction work will start from March 8.
The grassland is to be constructed at this place as per the approved budget and programme of the metropolis for the fiscal year 2082/83.
The KMC has warned that various festivals, sports activities, assemblies and other public programs will be disrupted in the area after the construction work begins.
“Festivals, sports activities, assemblies and other programs to be operated and organized at the site will be disrupted, so alternative arrangements have been made until the construction work is completed,” the notice reads. ’
