Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two Indian nationals with 4.3 kg of marijuana from the arrival tunnel gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested have been identified as 29-year-old Muhammad Rahuf Ayanthop and 25-year-old Ayesha Dilsha. A police team from Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office and Narcotics Control Bureau (NAB) seized 2.14 kg of marijuana from Muhammad and 2.16 kg from Ayesha. They have been sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation.
Police have arrested Bhim Bahadur Tamang, 30, of Kankai municipality, Jhapa with 1 gram 230 milligrammes of brown sugar and Rs 16,745 in cash from Itahari Sub-metropolis-20, Tahara on Saturday night. A police team deputed from Tahara Police Post arrested him with the substance.
CHITWAN: Police have arrested two persons with 40 grams of 370 milligrams of heroin and Rs 31,075 in cash from a vegetable market in Kamalnagar of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. The arrestees have been identified as Aarohi Pariyar, 27, of Bharatpur Municipality-3 and Bishal Bhatta, 28, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16.
A police team deputed from the District Police Office, Chitwan arrested them with the substance.
Police have arrested two persons in possession of 105.5 kilogrammes of marijuana from Badahara of Tirhut rural municipality-2 in Saptari district on Saturday afternoon. The arrestees have been identified as Jamun Mahato aka Om Prakash, 43, and Kabita Kumari Majhi, 28, both residents of Sitapur in Kanchanrup Municipality-7.
A police team from Area Police Office, Kanchanpur arrested the auto driver Jamun and Kabita Kumari, who was travelling in the auto, while checking the auto (Pra 2-01-001 Ha 0022) en route to Dimon from Kanchanpur.
Police have arrested 22-year-old Kamal Shahi of Baijanath Rural Municipality-8 in Banke district with 820 milligrammes of brown sugar from Futah of Badhaiyatal rural municipality-2 in Banke district. A police team deputed from Area Police Office, Mainapokhar arrested him while he was coming to Nepal on foot from Balai village of India.
KANCHANPUR: Police have arrested two persons in possession of 450 milligrams of brown sugar from Pipalchautara of Belauri municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district on Saturday night. The arrestees have been identified as Keshav Bista, 35, of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis-8, Kailali and Krishna Mahara, 23, of Alital Rural Municipality-3, Mauri, Dadeldhura. A team deployed from the Area Police Office, Beldandi arrested them on a motorbike (Se 7 Pa 2266) en route to Nepal from India.
Police arrested 34-year-old Lokendra Kathayat of Godavari Municipality-11 in Kailali district with 670 milligrams of brown sugar. A police team deputed from the Narcotics Control Bureau branch office Dhangadhi also seized the contraband during a search of a retail shop operated by Lokendra and arrested him. The police have also arrested 1 person living in the same place for necessary investigation.
Similarly, police have arrested 22-year-old Rajan Gupta of Lakhimpur Khiri Paliya, India with 1 gram 330 milligrams of brown sugar from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-8, Dhangadhi on Saturday evening. A police team from the District Police Office, Kailali arrested him with the substance.
Police have arrested two persons in possession of 52,300 tablets of Tramadol from Gandak Chowk of Birgunj Metropolitan City-14 on Saturday afternoon. The arrestees have been identified as Ram Asis Raut Ahir, 42, of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-1, Bara and Subash Saraf, 30, of Bahudarmai Municipality-2, Parsa. A team of police deployed from Gandak Police Post arrested the Sumo driver Ram and Subas in course of checking the Sumo (Na 1 Ja 2765) en route to Kathmandu.
Police said further investigation is underway in this connection.
