Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has assigned a writ petition filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Dhanusha-1 candidate Kishori Saha after the Election Commission (EC) rejected her candidacy. A single bench of Justice Nripa Dhwaj Niraula is conducting the hearing.
Sah has filed a writ petition naming the Election Commission as the defendant, demanding that his candidacy be retained. The Election Commission (EC) had scrapped the candidacy of RSP candidate Sah from Dhanusha constituency-1 after a complaint was filed against him for blacklisting. Kishori Lal Sah of Kishor Construction was blacklisted on Poush 6, 2080 and October 31, 2029, according to the Credit Information Center website. Two days before the election, the Election Commission had rejected Saha’s candidacy.
Ram Chandra Mandal of CPN-UML, Ram Paltan Sah of Nepali Congress and Matrika Prasad Yadav of CPN-UML are in the fray. The counting of votes in this constituency has been completed but the Election Commission has not made public the results as the case is sub judice in the court.
