Kathmandu. Sudan Gurung of Rastriya Samajwadi Party (RSP) has been elected from Gorkha constituency-1. Of the 64,000 votes cast in the constituency, more than 53,000 votes were counted, while Sudan Gurung garnered 24,051 votes.
His nearest rival was NC’s Narayan Kaji Shrestha who got 13,511 votes. With less than 10,500 to count, Sudan has a lead of more than 10,500.
Therefore, Sudan will win all the remaining votes even if all the votes go to his nearest rival Khatri. CPN-UML’s Hari Raj Adhikari came third with 10,231 votes while CPN-UML’s RC Lamichhane came out fourth with 3,080 votes.
