Inquiry Commission submits probe report on Genji protests

Kathmandu. The commission set up to investigate the Genji protests has submitted a report to the government. The probe commission led by former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki submitted its report to Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday. The probe report has been submitted to the government, said commission member Bigyan Raj Sharma.

On September 19, the government had set up a commission to investigate the Genji protests on September 23 and 24. The NHRC had recorded statements from more than 150 government officials and eyewitnesses of the protest that took place on September 7 in Baneshwor, Kathmandu, in connection with the incident in which youths were killed.

There was a government under the leadership of KP Sharma Oli during the Genji movement. At that time, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, IGP Chandrakuber Khapung and Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabilal Rijal were present.
