Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sudhan Gurung has increased his lead in the by-election to the House of Representatives from Gorkha constituency-1.
Gurung, who is contesting the election symbol, has secured 370 votes from Arughat Rural Municipality-5 in the district. In the same ward, NC’s Prem Kumar Khatri got 267 votes, Hari Raj Adhikari of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) got 127 votes and Ram Chandra Lamichhane of the CPN (UML) got 142 votes.
With this, Sudhan Gurung has garnered 5,024 votes. His nearest rival was NC’s Prem Kumar Khatri who got 4,843 votes.
Likewise, Hariraj Adhikari got 2,505 votes while Ram Chandra Lamichhane got 953 votes.
Gurung is leading by 181 votes against Khatri.
