Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Gagan Thapa has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-4.
Singh garnered 35,688 votes while his nearest rival Thapa garnered 22,831 votes.
With this win, Amresh Singh completed a hat-trick while Gagan Thapa suffered his first defeat. Thapa, who was elected as a proportional representation member in the 2006 BS election, completed a hat-trick in Kathmandu-4. Thapa, who contested the election from Madhes this time, has lost for the first time.
