Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice-chairman Rabindra Mishra has announced his retirement from party politics for the time being.

Writing on social media on Saturday, he announced his retirement from party politics for the time being.

He said the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) had repeatedly failed to organise and capitalize the people’s mandate despite massive mandate in favour of reinstatement of monarchy throughout the country due to various reasons.

He said he was confident that the country could not be saved and built for the future generation in the midst of changing geopolitics and decaying internal situation without the path of new understanding and structural review.

“The decision I am making today is not out of despair, despair or haste. I’ve been thinking a lot. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has repeatedly failed to organise and capitalize the people’s mandate for various reasons despite the overwhelming mandate in favour of reinstatement of monarchy throughout the country, for which I am also responsible as the Senior Vice-Chairman of the party. I am convinced that the country cannot be saved and built for the future generations in the midst of changing geopolitics and the decaying internal situation without the path of new understanding and structural review for the country. ’

Mishra, while assessing his political journey, said, “Past

During my political journey of 9 years with unprecedented ups and downs, I have sincerely strived for political and national transformation to the best of my wisdom and intellect. That effort still doesn’t seem to be enough. However, under no circumstances will we do anything that ‘the individual gets, the country does not’ by putting ‘selfishness above the country’. ’

He also thanked the Nepalis and party friends at home and abroad for their support and wished them success and best wishes for the party’s journey ahead.
