Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been elected from Chitwan constituency-2 with a huge margin.
Lamichhane won the election defeating Nepali Congress candidate Meena Kumari Kharel by a margin of 39,838 votes.
Lamichhane got 54,402 votes. He had secured 54,276 votes in the previous election.
His nearest rival was NC’s Meena Kumari Kharel who got 14,564 votes, according to Chitwan’s Chief Election Officer Kedar Prasad Poudel.
CPN-UML’s Ashmin Ghimire came third with 6,992 votes. In Chitwan constituency-2, 87,221 votes were cast.
