Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has said that the security situation is strong across the country and voting is taking place peacefully for the election to the House of Representatives.
Although the voting process was affected for some time due to minor disputes and technical reasons in some districts, voting has already started in all the places.
Election Commission Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that voting was partially halted for a short period in some districts including Sarlahi, Syangja and Dolakha. But these problems have been resolved due to the active efforts of the local administration and the immediate facilitation of the Election Commission.
Likewise, he said that the EC has also come to the notice of some local level demands put forth by the voters in some districts including Okhaldhunga and Dang. The local administration is coordinating and facilitating with the voters in these places and these issues will be resolved soon, the commission said.
According to the EC, the voting process has been continued by resolving minor problems at the local level. The Election Commission has concluded that the peace, security and voting environment across the country is very promising as there was enthusiastic participation of voters in all 23,112 polling stations across the country.
