Kathmandu. A person died and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a scooter at Hirapani of Kamalamai municipality-4 in Sindhuli district along the BP Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Chandra Shrestha of Golanjor Rural Municipality-2, Bittijor, police said. Shrestha, who retired from the Nepal Army on a pension two years ago, had been running a soap factory in Dhura Bazaar area.
According to the family, Shrestha was riding a scooter on his way to his village to cast his vote today. He died after being hit by a bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus came from the wrong direction and hit the scooter.
Shrestha’s body has been kept at Sindhuli Hospital. Further investigation into the accident is underway, police said.
