Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has claimed that the results of the first-past-the-post (first-past) election will be made public within 24 hours of the completion of the voting and the counting of votes.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that preparations are underway to collect the ballot boxes and announce the results of the election results as soon as possible despite geographical remoteness. He added that the counting of votes under the proportional representation system would also go ahead simultaneously with the counting of votes under the first-past-the-post system. The results will be made public soon, he added.
He also urged the media persons to monitor the fulfillment of the commitments made by the Commission. “It takes time to collect ballot boxes from our hilly and mountainous regions, but we are trying to collect them as soon as possible,” he said. In most of the places where we cannot come quickly, we collect ballot boxes through Nepal Army helicopters. ’
He said that it is a normal procedure in any democratic country of the world to invite international observers on the eve of elections to inform them about the situation and offer hospitality.
