Supreme Court to open on holidays: Writ of habeas corpus to be heard

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court will remain open on the occasion of International Women’s Day and public holiday announced by the government for the elections. The court will remain open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for the hearing of the writ petition.

Supreme Court spokesperson Arjun Koirala said the court will remain open for hearing of the writ petitions on habeas corpus from today until the International Women’s Day today.

The Supreme Court has stated that the writ petition of habeas corpus is directly related to the personal liberty and fundamental rights of an individual, and arrangement has been made to hear it even on public holidays. The court has urged the concerned parties to be present in the stipulated time and proceed with the process.
