Kathmandu. The Election Commission has said it is confident that one and all will abide by the election code of conduct during the silence period. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said that the EC would not back down from taking action if there were wrongdoings.
“There is a discussion in many places that the work done through the window or the window is more effective during the silence period,” he said, “We will identify those people who are involved in such irregular activities and take action against them.” ’
According to him, the EC has been urging all the stakeholders to abide by the code of conduct from time to time. “If there is something that is prohibited by any law and the objective evidence proves it, then we will cancel his nomination,” he said. Regardless of who wins or losers, we cancel his candidacy and we will make arrangements that he will not be allowed to participate in any election process for 6 years after that. ’
Stating that all the stakeholders have been urging the people to follow the code of conduct, he added, “If any such wrong is done, it will have zero tolerance.” All the stakeholders should inform the Election Commission wherever and whatever they find. The Election Commission does not shy away from taking action against such issues. ’
According to Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, the election publicity materials should be removed if the political parties and their candidates have placed the election publicity materials within 300 meters of their polling stations.
He says, “If there are any election campaign materials like posters, then they should also be removed. If any content is published on social media supporting a candidate, asking for votes for a candidate, rejecting a candidate saying that he or she is not good, then all of that should be removed. ’
